The Sensory Home® x Graham & Brown Paint Collection
In a world where interior trends shift quickly, The Sensory Home® has collaborated with Graham & Brown to offer something with more purpose — a paint collection built around intention, emotion, and wellbeing.
Designed to support how we feel, not just how we decorate, this carefully curated palette of 16 colours is grouped into four sensory-focused stories. Together, they offer a new way to approach interiors — one that’s rooted in how colour affects our nervous system, energy levels, and sense of safety at home.
Whether you need focus, calm, clarity or connection, these palettes provide more than just wall colour — they set the tone for your space, your energy, and your emotional state.

A Palette Designed for the Senses
At a time when homes must be both sanctuary and workspace, sensory-conscious design has never mattered more.
For people with sensory sensitivities — or anyone who craves calm in a busy world — colour can play a powerful role in emotional regulation. These 16 tones were designed with that in mind: intentionally muted, low-saturation, and soft on the eyes and body.
The result? A palette that’s accessible, soothing, and supportive of everyday life — especially for those who are neurodivergent or overwhelmed by high-stimulation environments.
Explore the Four Colour Stories
Each story includes four colours that work beautifully together — but rather than painting all four on your walls, use them as a guide for an entire scheme: paint, furniture, textiles, and accessories.
They’re designed to support both emotional and physical comfort — with the versatility to suit different rooms and lifestyles.
THE PAINT COLLECTION
FOCUS
Cool blues with a touch of warm neutral to create calm energy and mental clarity. This palette is designed to help with concentration, regulation and calm focus. Sky blue has always been a colour I come back to. Soft and quietly engaging.

There’s science behind that feeling. Blue tones have been shown to support focus and calm by lowering heart rate and reducing overstimulation. It’s why they’re often used in learning and restorative environments — they help us stay present, without pressure.
Bauhaus design thinkers even assigned emotional symbolism to shapes and hues. In their colour-shape study, blue was paired with the circle, understood as the best colour to engage the mind in internal focus—to represent the “mind animated within itself”. That idea fits into what we want to achieve with the FOCUS palette: blue helps turn attention inward, to quiet mental space and gentle clarity.
When you soften blue with warm neutrals — oatmeal, clay, chalky whites — it loses any cool edge and becomes deeply comforting, balanced and clear. Just the right energy for calm clarity and gentle creativity.

Best for: home offices, playrooms, creative spaces
Style it with: pale woods, structured layouts, soft neutrals, minimal distractions
GATHER
And then there are the greens and browns — the grounding colours.
Rich greens and earthy browns drawn straight from the natural world. These tones instantly create a sense of steadiness and safety. They’re familiar, comforting, and quietly supportive — like taking a walk in the forest.

Green, in particular, has a profound effect on the body. It’s been shown to lower cortisol levels — our stress hormone — and support a sense of emotional regulation. That’s why it’s often used in hospitals, clinics, and spaces designed for healing. It’s the colour of balance, and our brains instinctively read it as safe and reassuring.
Browns — whether in soft clay, walnut, or raw timber — bring warmth and a sense of connection. Together, this palette fosters social connection and comfort. It’s ideal for spaces where people gather — living rooms, dining nooks, even entrances — places where warmth and ease matter most.

Best for: living rooms, dining areas, shared family spaces
Style it with: layered textures, warm lighting, tactile elements, natural materials
NOOK
Let’s not forget the neutrals — the quiet heroes of the palette.
In the Nook collection, we’ve chosen four that are especially soft and easy to be around. They’re non-demanding on the eye, low in contrast, and designed to settle gently into a space rather than shout for attention.

These are the shades that wrap around you — like a soft, warm hug. They don’t overstimulate or distract. Instead, they cocoon. They make space feel safe and comfortable. Perfect for when you want to switch off the noise and relax.
They also act as the thread that ties everything together — allowing blues, greens, and warmer tones to sit alongside each other naturally, without any harsh jumps or visual tension. It’s that effortless calm, built into the background.

Best for: Nooks, sensory rooms, quiet corners
Style it with: Linens, natural wood, ceramics, low lighting, soft surfaces and acoustic panels
REST
Smoky olive and soft green-greys with a grounded, sophisticated feel. These colours work beautifully in restorative environments where calm is key. Deep greens paired with gentle neutrals feel incredibly restorative.
There’s something about forest green that speaks directly to the nervous system — it tells the brain: it’s safe to slow down now. This shade mimics the transition from daylight to dusk — the way the colours around you soften as the sun goes down.

Scientifically, this works because deep greens reflect the low-light spectrum we experience in natural environments at the end of the day. Our brains associate this colour range with rest and the winding down of the circadian rhythm. It signals to the body that it’s time to shift from doing to being. Cortisol lowers. Melatonin (our sleep hormone) begins to rise.
When paired with warm neutrals — like chalky creams, stone, or soft browns — that sense of calm deepens. Together, they create spaces that feel still, grounded, and safe. Ideal for bedrooms or anywhere you want to support the nervous system and soften the pace of life.

Best for: bathrooms, meditation rooms, bedrooms
Style it with: layered greens, natural stone, curved shapes, gentle textures
From the Founder – Why Colour Matters
“The way we design our homes should be about more than just aesthetics. This collection is about creating environments that actively support our wellbeing — whether that’s through grounding colours that encourage social connection, restful shades that help us unwind, or tones that aid focus. This is about using colour as a tool for emotional balance, not just decoration.”
— Pippa Jameson, Founder of The Sensory Home®
A New Approach to Decorating
Rather than asking “what’s on trend?”, this collection encourages you to ask, what do I need from this space?
Each palette is a starting point — not just for colour, but for materials, texture, light and flow. Use these colours to guide your decisions, not dictate them.
Whether you’re designing for a busy family, a neurodivergent child, or just craving more balance in your life, these colours offer a gentle, intuitive way to design a space that works for you.
